Wellness Consulting | Initial Visit $125 | Follow up visits $75
As a Wellness consultant my goal is to Educate and Empower clients to lead physically, emotionally and mentally healthier lifestyles. I will advise my clients on healthier lifestyle choices in various areas including exercise, nutrition and stress management.
My Doctrate is in Traditional Naturopathy. Traditional Naturopathy has been practiced since the beginning of human life, and is based on the philosophy that the body has tremendous innate abilities to heal itself. I will educate patients on nutrition and a healthy lifestyle, merely initiating and guiding the body in its healing by performing a variety of techniques including massage, reflexology, herbology, aromatherapy, reiki, guided meditations, yoga therapy and other natural healing modalities.
These healing modalities promote self-healing in contrast to Western medicine's treatment-of-symptoms through drugs approach. Practitioners of Traditional Naturopathy believe in the healing power of nature; they do not focus on trying to diagnose and treat a specific illness but rather they focus on strengthening the body's own defenses.
Traditional Naturopathy views the individual as an integral whole, made up of physiological, structural, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects, influenced by environmental and lifestyle factors. Symptoms of disease are seen as warning signals of improper functioning in one or more area.
The Principles of Traditional Naturopathy
• Co-operate with the Healing Power of Nature
• Identify and Treat the Cause
• Treat the Whole Person
• Doctor as Educator
• Disease Prevention & Health Promotion
Goals of Treatment
My primary goal is to address the underlying cause of the disease rather than solely treating or suppressing the symptoms. This approach has proven successful in treating both chronic and acute conditions.
Therapies are:
• Nutritional counseling, including dietary assessment and directing dietary changes toward whole food nutrition
• Therapeutic nutrition, including vitamins, minerals, and other dietary supplements
• Herbal medicine, including the use of teas, tinctures, and essential oils
• Environmental medicine, including assessment of toxicity in the body, along with cleansing and detoxification programs
• Lifestyle counseling, addressing physical, mental, and emotional issues in daily life, including stress management
• Therapies to address musculoskeletal pain, including manipulation of bone and soft tissue, stretching and acupressure
What to Expect during a Visit
The initial visit will usually entail an in-depth medical history, covering mental, emotional, and physical aspects of the patient, as well as pertinent physical exam. The practitioner will address the concerns the patient comes in with, as well as many parameters of health and wellness. Treatment recommendations using naturopathic therapies may be made on the first visit, or if further study is required, a treatment plan will be given at a follow up visit.
Follow up visits allow for the opportunity to check in regarding how the patient is doing with compliance and outcome using the recommended therapies, as well as further education.
